Most people would think that the Denver Nuggets would have a higher frontcourt ranking, but the defense from their forwards and centers was suspect. The Nuggets scored an NBA-best 57 points in the paint per game this season, which was more than 10 points better than the team in the second place. However, while they attempted the third-most free throws in the league, they were the third-worst at shooting them. Denver has a talented frontcourt with Danilo Gallinari, Andre Iguodala, Kenneth Faried and Wilson Chandler and good size with Kosta Koufos, JaVale McGee and Timofey Mozgov, but these units only stepped up on offense. With a new coach replacing George Karl soon, the Nuggets will hope to have a new defensive scheme. It is unfortunate that Gallinari went down before the playoffs, but he should be back in the second half of the 2013-14 season.
