The Golden State Warriors – I’m still not fully buying into the hype, but that has nothing to do with Stephen Curry. Curry is a unique talent, equally dangerous when shooting off the dribble or with this feet set with efficiency comparable to that of Steve Nash at his best. Where the hype loses me is Klay Thompson, who is a solid shooter in his own right but at this point is not much more than that. His defense can be good at times but is inconsistent and his shot selection needs a lot of work as he takes a lot of long two’s that really drag down his scoring efficiency. The pair are backed up by the always solid Jarrett Jack, who is probably best suited for his current role as a backup combo guard where his versatility is an asset and his decision making is less of a liability.
Key Stats:
Stephen Curry – 7.7; that’s how many three pointers he took per game this season. 40%; that’s how many of them were off the dribble.
Klay Thompson – 585; that;’s how many threes Klay attempted this past season. 17; that’s how many dunks Klay had this past season.
