Elgin Baylor was an 11-time all-star who earned All-NBA first team honors 10 times in his 13-year career.

In 1960, against the New York Knicks, Baylor set a then record 71 points while pulling down 25 rebounds.

In the 1961-62 Finals, Baylor hauled in 22 rebounds and scored 61 points, which still stands as the record for most-points in a Finals game.

He led the Lakers to EIGHT Finals appearances but failed to overtake Bill Russell’s Boston Celtics.

What makes Baylor’s eligibility for this list – a list he’d rather not be on – a controversy, is the fact that he actually has a championship ring.

Nine games into the 1971-72 season, the Laker great retired due to nagging knee problems. That season, Los Angeles went on to win the Championship and gave Baylor a ring, even though he was not an active player.
