The Cleveland Cavaliers’ backup shooting guard, Iman Shumpert, has been throwing down some nasty dunks at the Drew League.

Most NBA’s players just enjoy the offseason. Iman Shumpert is not most NBA players. He has been at the Drew League which is already a plus for the upcoming season. The Cleveland Cavaliers’ best perimeter defender has been showing off his insane athleticism, and it couldn’t be at a better time since Cavalier fans need some good news.

Here’s one of Shumpert’s athletic dunks.

That is just one example of how Shumpert has flown. An Instagram account (@cavsrealm) made a video of Shumpert’s complete Drew League highlights, and they seem to be promising.

After watching the video through multiple times, it’s clear most of the highlights are Shumpert passing which is excellent to see. Shumpert, who played 25.5 minutes per game last season, averaged only 1.4 assists. This upcoming season, Shumpert will get over $10 million from the Cavaliers, and he needs to play like it.

The 27-year-old really has yet to break out like he was expected to. Shumpert was on the All-Rookie first team after his rookie season in 2011-2012. Since then, Shumpert really hasn’t improved his play; therefore, if he wants another pay day, he must break out this season.

The former All-American has his second worst usage percentage this past season. He needs to influence the game more, so being able to take over a game in the Drew League might be a positive for this upcoming season. For the most part, Iman has stayed out of trade talks ever since he was almost dealt to the Houston Rockets earlier this season.

It’s nice to see Shumpert balling instead of getting caught up in the offseason fiasco that is his Cleveland Cavaliers.
