While the Cleveland Cavaliers may be willing to swap Kevin Love at any time, the Indiana Pacers may be reluctant to deal away their superstar.

Paul George, who is coming off his best season as a pro, has had trade rumors swirling around him for some time. At the pinnacle of those rumors are the Cleveland Cavaliers and their attempts to swap Kevin Love for George.

While those have dwindled away, the new rumors of a third team have started up. Now, it seems the Denver Nuggets, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Indiana Pacers have started to engage in talks about different trades, according to Marc Stein.

Pre-draft reports said that a deal involving George was likely to be done before the draft, but obviously, that did not happen. So, the Pacers turned down a swap for George, and they turned down any draft picks for this current year. In my opinion, that means that they will not rest till they get the best possible deal for George.

If this deal never happens, the Pacers, who would lose George to free agency, and the Cavs, who would lose the possibility to re-sign George, both lose in the long haul. So, a deal involving George to Cleveland is a smart deal for both organizations. Now, we just wonder when.

In an article by NBA.com, the President of the Indiana Pacers, Kevin Pritchard, said this:

"“Everybody thought today’s date was a trigger date because draft picks were in involved, but that doesn’t mean you can’t do things into the future – future draft picks, players today, young players, older and established players,” Pritchard said. “We’re keeping everything on the board. There’s so much other stuff that doesn’t include draft picks that we decided to stay put and look at everything that’s on the board in the future. We’re not going to make a bad deal. We want to get what we want and that’s what we pursue.”"

That sounds pretty convincing. Pritchard will not be making a bad deal. With that said, it might take a while for these two teams to organize a deal that pleases everyone, but in the long haul, it needs to happen.
