The Cleveland Cavaliers solidly beat the New York Knicks in a primetime game on ABC, and now we must ask if the victory sealed them the best shot at Melo.

LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers put it on the Knicks tonight. James had 32, four threes, ten assists, and just an all-around solid game. Kevin Love, who was a game-time addition, put up a monster double-double to the looks of 23 points and 16 rebounds.

Brandon Jennings and Courtney Lee were the only big time scorers for New York tonight. They combined for 40 points and nine threes. The Big Apple’s main studs struggled tonight. Anthony and Porzingis went just 9-30 combined.

With the explosion of Kevin Love and the atrocious 6-20  from Melo, did Cleveland just prove that Love is much more valuable. When the Carmelo Anthony to Cleveland rumors started, if you recall, the main target was just a straight Love for Melo swap.

Obviously that will never happen, and tonight proved it, but did tonight prove to Melo that he should be a Cavalier? Melo was booed, and while he just finger-wagged the fans and played it off, Melo should be getting love from a city he has given much of career for. A change in scenery would be good for him.

As you may have known by now, Carmelo Anthony possess a no-trade clause within his contact that only he can waive. So, if not agreed upon by him, Anthony can not be forced to go to another team. The only other team that Melo would be alright with is the Clippers.

While talks with the Clippers have faded, the Cavaliers talks have ramped up even more. This is the year of the Melo, and the Cavaliers should do their best to make sure his best days will come to end with his pal, LeBron James.
