Day 4 of the NBA Playoffs is in the books and some intrigue has finally come not involving the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Again we will breakdown each day of the NBA Playoffs, specifically looking how each result could/does impact the Cavs. The first three days can be found here:

Day 1     Day 2     Day 3

Now on to Day 4 of the NBA Playoffs which only had 2 games on the board.

Celtics Vs Hawks

Maybe the only piece of important information from this game is that the Boston Celtics scored a total of 7 points in the 1st Quarter. They had 28 points at half. If you only looked at the final score, you would think the game was competitive to some extent. In reality, the Hawks seemed to get bored.

Atlanta looked good when the game mattered, that just wasn’t for very long. How the Celtics respond early in Game 3 will be huge in deciding whether this is a series or a sweep.

For the Cavs, the Hawks and Celtics were both swept by Cleveland last year. The loss of Avery Bradley and DeMarre Carroll makes both teams worse. Neither should be a big hindrance to the Cavs but the Hawks are clearly more talented and versatile.

For the Celtics, a 2nd clean sweep could lead to a big move next year. Kevin Love has been mentioned and they could be desperate for a player of that caliber. That can only benefit the Cavs if they decide to move him.

Series: 2 – 0 Hawks

Grizzlies Vs Spurs

More from King James Gospel

In another game and series that has become boring quickly, the Grizzlies just have nothing to give at this point. They are without most of their top players and relying on Lance Stephenson to be their top creator. That led to 68 points. Mike Conley will be a free agent, Zach Randolph is aging and Marc Gasol might be wondering why he re-signed.

The Spurs having an easy path so far just allows them to rest. They are the better of two evils for the Cavs, so they might be the best case scenario for Cleveland in the NBA Finals. No one on the Spurs played more than 27 minutes in a 26 point blowout win.

This series was over before it started. The Oklahoma City Thunder are the likely next round opponent but their tough game against the Dallas Mavericks makes that less certain.

What is certain is that last night was a bad night of basketball.

Series: 2  0 Spurs

Thankfully the Cleveland Cavaliers play tonight, which should make things better. Did you watch last night?
