LeBron James turned what was expected to be a quiet week into a firestorm by taking a trip to Miami.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are off a few days before a back to back against the Washington Wizards and Boston Celtics to finish the week. LeBron took advantage of the time off by taking a trip to Miami to work out with former teammate Dwyane Wade.

This is also coming on the heels of LeBron’s latest set of cryptic tweets.

If that wasn’t enough, LeBron has also taken #TheLand out of his Twitter bio.

Before we overreact, let’s just take a second to think about this.

LeBron deciding to go to Miami during a break in the season is nothing new at all. Last January he took a trip to Miami to rehab a sore back and knee. Joe Vardon reports that there were at least two other times LeBron has taken a trip to Miami during the season since returning to Cleveland. This is business as usual for James.

Taking a trip to Miami in the winter time with you wife is nothing out of the ordinary for people living in Northeast Ohio. It’s the time he took the trip and the video of him and Wade that are rubbing people the wrong way. While it is understandable that this would rub people the wrong way, it really isn’t that big of a deal.

This trip has probably been planned out weeks in advance. This is the longest stretch the Cavaliers will go the rest of the season without playing games. Unlike everyone else on the Cavs’ roster, James did not get to take a vacation during the all-star break because he was participating in the all-star game. There’s also no point of having a mansion in Miami if you don’t get to escape part of the harsh Ohio winter.

That being said, LeBron could’ve easily gone down to Miami and not have a video of him working out with Wade. It’s clear LeBron wanted to be in that video and he wanted everyone to know about it. However, we don’t know why he exactly he wanted everyone to know he was in Miami. It could be him taking a dig at his teammates in Cleveland, he may try to be showing that he’s working out even when he’s on vacation, or he may just be like a teenager taking snaps without really thinking about what everyone on Twitter would say. There really is a thousand different ways to look at this.

Whatever conclusion you draw up, it shouldn’t be that LeBron is returning to Miami. It wouldn’t make sense for him to go back. It’s not a secret that him and Wade are best friends. Just because Wade is also an NBA player doesn’t mean that he can’t see him at any point during the NBA season.

Now the cryptic tweet is something completely different. There isn’t a connection with the trip to Miami and the tweet since the trip was planned out presumably weeks and advance.

We all know that LeBron isn’t afraid to call out teammates on Twitter, to the media, or even on the court. He’s done that on almost every single team he’s been on. James called out or yelled at his former teammates in Miami multiple times. LeBron expects a lot from his teammates and his has interesting some interesting passive aggressive ways of showing his displeasure.

As great of a player LeBron is, he isn’t always the most fun person to play with, especially when things aren’t going well. Even his best friend Wade said playing with him the last year in Miami “wasn’t fun”. That’s why it shouldn’t be a huge surprise when stories come out about Kevin Love or Kyrie Irving being unhappy at times. There’s a good chance that tweet was about Kyrie. That isn’t new territory for LeBron, it’s just more business as usual from him.

At the end of the day you still put up with stuff like this from James if you’re playing on his team because nobody else in the league makes you an instant title contender like he does.  With great power comes great responsibility, and with a good team comes great expectations. Sometimes those great expectations can wear on a team.

Now for LeBron erasing #TheLand from his Twitter bio is anyone’s guess. Only LeBron knows what that means. But to think that changing his Twitter bio is his way of telling the world he’s leaving Cleveland is just a little too much of an exaggeration. We know LeBron has a flair for the dramatics, a simple change of a Twitter bio is too simple for James.

Every little thing with this team will be put under the microscope. That’s what happens when you have LeBron on the team. However, just because everything is put under the microscope doesn’t mean everything is worth overreacting about.
