The Gospel Makes Unique Appearance on NBA.com
On Wednesday evening, TNT Analyst Mike Fratello answered questions from some of the nation’s top basketball blogs. And KingJamesGospel was fortunate enough to be included in the script transcribed by Mr. Scott Barrett of NBA.com: Cody from www.kingjamesgospel.com: Assuming that every great player to ever compete in the NBA was part of the same draft class, which one player in the NBA would you pick with the first overall draft pick to build your team around? Well I can’t. I can’t do that. But, I think your decision comes down to a great, great big man or a great guard. [...]
All Together: Cleveland, Band Together
It seems very difficult for Cavaliers fans (and haters) to understand how LeBron James could ever get hurt. On the basketball floor, James daunts a striking resemblance to an otherworldly animal whose biceps would struggle to squeeze into a size 8 Authentic Indians baseball cap. And as big as he looks on TV, I can personally guarantee that he is only that much bigger when you see him up close. We’ve fallen under the hypnotism that LeBron doesn’t take hits – he just gives them – and has filled Chuck Norris’s international role as the ultimate bad arse in the [...]
Noah, Bulls Down for the Count
After putting on quite a show on Sunday afternoon in Chicago, the Cavaliers returned to the Q and looked good. Not great. But good. And they escaped with a 96-94 victory against the stubborn Bulls. LeBron James barely missed a second consecutive triple-double as he went for 19 points, ten rebounds and nine assists. It was a solid performance by the King but certainly nothing like the otherworldly performance that he put together on Sunday. The only bad news for Cavs’ fans is that LeBron was forced to shoot a free throw left-handed due to a re aggravation of a [...]
Wild Thing Finishes Third in Sixth Man Vote
The NBA announced the winner of the Sixth Man of the Year Award today – Jamal Crawford. Anderson Varejao finished third with 126 points behind last year’s award winner, Jason Terry. Varejao was arguably the second most valuabe player on the Cavaliers’ roster this season as he averaged 8.6 points and 7.6 rebounds per game off the bench. However, it is not measurable statistics that earned him a third place finish in this year’s Sixth Man Award – Andy acts as LeBron’s personal body guard, brings an absurd amount of energy off the bench every night and wears down opponents [...]
Here’s to You Joakim
After his comments at the beginning of the series regarding the lack of entertainment in Cleveland, I find it very fitting that Chicago’s Joakim Noah has a very real opportunity to begin his offseason vacation in the great city in Ohio. Because we, as Clevelanders, take the high road and prefer not to engage in such war of words with Mr. Noah, I have taken the liberty to create a beautiful travel guide for Mr. Noah to put to use after his Game 5 loss on Tuesday night. Travel Guide for the City of Cleveland, Ohio The Rock and Roll [...]
LeBron Earns Respect of Chicago Fans
After watching these first four games of the 2010 NBA Playoffs, I find it hard for anyone to question the simple fact that King LeBron James is the best basketball player in the world. He has single-handedly torched the Chicago Bulls for 35 points, nine rebounds and eight assists per night this series and has obtained the utmost respect from Bulls fans. I went to check out some of the forums on the Bulls’ website this morning and found several posters awarding ‘Bron the title Greatest Player Ever – which is quite the accomplishment from fans of the franchise that [...]
LeBron, Cavs Steamroll Bulls in Game 4
Now that is the Cavaliers team that I expected to see throughout the first three games of this playoff series. The Cavaliers played an outstanding brand of basketball for about 36 minutes – and I say 36 minutes because I wasn’t quite as impressed through one quarter on Sunday evening. Before the opening tip, Antawn Jamison told the ABC crew that LeBron had this look in his eyes that assured him that he was not going to let another game slip away. And LeBron James made Jamison an honest man by playing an absolutely ridiculous game as he went for [...]
Cavaliers vs. Bulls – Game 4 (Live Chat)
Cavs Visit Bulls for Pivotal Game 4 Matchup
I think we can all agree that LeBron and the Cleveland Cavaliers didn’t quite look so hot against the Bulls on Thursday evening. They gave a very lackluster effort on both sides of the ball and still nearly escaped with a victory. Still up two games to one in this round one playoff series, the Cavaliers look to right the ship in Sunday afternoon’s Game 4. Come on back and join us here at the Gospel for a Live Chat beginning promptly at 3:15 pm et.
Cavs Fall Short in Lackluster Game 3
It is Friday afternoon and I am just now providing the recap for Thursday night’s game three with the Chicago Bulls. And it’s not because I haven’t had the time or because I just didn’t feel like writing up a piece about playoff loss number one this season. If I would’ve written this up immediately following the game, it would sound completely different than the way it’s going to work right now. And let me tell you why: The Cavaliers played poorly. There’s just no two ways about it. They played awful defense and, for the first three quarter, played [...]
