The Cavs reached and to be honest drafted someone I know very little about. Christian Eyenga from the Congo is still very underdeveloped and will likely stay oversees. This could be a possible trading piece for the Cavs if they desire to move him. I still think this is a reach for a team that needs shooting now not later. He could be a great project, but this team doesn’t need projects right now. Here is Eyengra’s breakdown from ESPN: /

Positives:

  • NBA body
  • Excellent athlete
  • Explosive leaper
  • Quick and physical defender
  • Emerging perimeter game

Negatives:

  • Lacks a high basketball IQ
  • Raw

The best thing is that most of the other sites I have reviewed have said his biggest weaknesses are that he needs more time to develop. The Cavs plan to get older for this season, but somewhere down the line they will need to replace players and Eyenga can do that in a few years (at least I’m trying to put a positive spin on at).
