The Cleveland Cavaliers will attempt to slow down one of the hottest teams in the NBA on Sunday when they host the Los Angeles Clippers.

Cleveland is hoping to get Donovan Mitchell (groin, questionable) back in the lineup for this game, but there could be players out for Los Angeles as well.

Cleveland is set as a 6.5-point favorite, which could suggest that the Clips will sit at least one of Kawhi Leonard or Paul George on the second night of a back-to-back. Still, the team hasn’t officially announced anything about their injury status.

Los Angeles is making a push in the West, winning five straight games to pull into the No. 4 seed. On the other side, Cleveland is just 1.5 games ahead of the Miami Heat for the No. 5 seed in the East.

Who wins this matchup between two playoff-caliber teams?

Clippers vs. Cavaliers prediction and pick

The Cavs have been a far better team at home than on the road this season, going 15-8-1 against the spread as home favorites.

While the Clippers have been playing better as of late, I’d be surprised to see both George and Leonard out there on the second night of a back-to-back given their injury history.

Mitchell is still up in the air, but this line suggests that the Cavs will have the better side of the injury situation.

If that’s the case, I think the Cavs cover in this game.

Cleveland has a lot of size that will be hard to deal with for a Clippers team that likes to play small, and the Clips still rank in the bottom-10 in the NBA this season in offensive rating.

It’s been very profitable to bet on Cleveland at home this season, so I’ll stick with that strategy on Sunday.
