#3 – Toronto Raptors

It’s been a crazy season for the Toronto Raptors. They have battled a cavalcade of injuries to key players but they are still towards the top of the Eastern Conference standings. The Raptors are currently fourth in the East and have a 23-12 record. However, they are only one game from falling to sixth.

In order for them to remain competitive, and maybe get a little closer to the Milwaukee Bucks is to add another weapon.

Kevin Love would be a fantastic fit for Toronto. With a healthy starting lineup of Kyle Lowry, Norman Powell, Pascal Siakam, Kevin Love, and likely Serge Ibaka, the Raptors would have five guys who can space the floor.

A Love-Lowry or a Love-Siakam pick-and-roll combination would also be deadly for opposing defense.

Losing Marc Gasol would be a tough pill for Raptor’s fans to swallow but much of what he is able to contribute this season, arguably his worst of his career, can be replicated by Love. Love can come in and be the solid veteran presence that Gasol is. Plus, Toronto has Lowry and Ibaka to provide veteran leadership.

Gasol is in the last year of his contract and per Basketball-Reference, is only averaging 6.6 points and 6.6 rebounds on 36.4% shooting. He is also nursing a hamstring injury and is likely to miss more time.

Cleveland would demand the Raptors first-round pick, which could be in the early 20s with the middle of the Eastern Conference being so tight.

Whatever the Cavaliers do with Love or their other trade pieces, roster change will absolutely be one of the key storylines to follow for the remainder of the 2019-20 season. Cleveland will look to move most of their veterans and high salary players in order to get their young guys more experience and to add valuable future assets.
