A more muscular Sexton and smiles all around

Fans of the Cleveland Cavaliers seem to have taken a great liking to Sexton, and with the way the organization has prioritized work ethic and toughness, Sexton fits right into the team’s culture as one of the key contributors moving forward.

It was clear this offseason, however, that Sexton did need to get stronger, so he could finish better at the rim in the 2019-20 season, and also get through on and off-ball screens more and be able to dictate against ball-handlers more on the defensive end.

It was noticeable that Sexton, who also watched a ton of film over the offseason, took tremendous strides in improving his body, which he believes should pay off on both ends, per 92.3 The Fan’s James Rapien.

Last but not least, it was nice to see that the atmosphere was seemingly all upbeat.

I understand that it was just the team’s media day on Monday, but it was still good to see plenty of smiles all around heading into the new season.

You could see that sort of thing in the interviews with Beilein and the players that had media availability, and that also was shown throughout, and one could notice that with assistant coach Lindsay Gottlieb below, too, for instance, per the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Garland was a player that clearly was soaking up the media day experience, and as many reporters noted, he constantly had a smile on his face. Garland acknowledged that he’s going to take things as they come and not get ahead of himself.

Most notably, though, he said, per Rapien, how it’s “gonna be fun playing with Collin.”

That’s nice to hear, along with how Rapien expressed that Garland “has a confidence about him.”

Of course, when it comes to radiating a positive mindset, one always has to include Osman.

Fans of the Cavaliers love Cedi because of his boyish enthusiasm when playing the game of basketball, his constant hustle, and of course, because of the way he seems to be off the floor.

He seems like a pretty darn funny dude.

This bit was way too good and the legend of #TheFirstCedi only grows (per Osman’s Twitter).

So again, media day heading into the 2019-20 season seemed to echo that the Cleveland Cavaliers are going to be primarily focused on their full rebuild.

That’s how it should be for their franchise, but of course, it’s still nice to know that Kevin Love is seemingly a big part of how they’ll help their young players’ progression, as Love is really invaluable.

Anyhow, it was at least a positive that the Cavs seem to be optimistic about what’s to come in the near future.

For viewing purposes, you can watch the media availability of those that had appearances here, per the team/NBA.com.

The season is almost here, and it should be a fun one.
