No. 20: Austin Rivers

Austin Rivers could be on the market this season. However, the chance that the Cleveland Cavaliers sign him is extraordinarily low, especially now since the Washington Wizards just traded for him. Regardless of his trade, Rivers does still have a player option if he decides to opt out.

Albeit these last two seasons Rivers has excelled, his contract and the Cavs current situation is just not a good match.

That’s not to say that for a needier team Rivers isn’t worth the money. Last season, he averaged a career-high 15.1 points per game and should continue to thrive as he’s finally learning the pace of the NBA game. In 33.7 minutes per game, he averaged just 1.8 turnovers. For a point guard, that’s outstanding.

In addition to 15.1 points, he also made 2.2 threes per game. On about 38% from deep, Rivers has proved to be a capable point guard and also a fearless yet undersized two guard.

At just 25, Rivers isn’t quite ready to chase a ring. That said, if he’s looking for big money, he’ll have to sacrifice winning for now which, for him, might not be a problem.
