No. 22: Nerlens Noel

Noel came into the league with limited offensive potential yet seemingly unlimited defensive potential. The No. 6 pick of the 2014 NBA Draft is still only 24 years and would certainly help solidify the Cavs defense.

As previously stated, the Cavaliers ranked No. 29 in defensive efficiency last season. The Cavs were one of four teams to not even average four blocks per game. Noel, in the 30 games he played last season, averaged 2.4 steals and 1.7 blocks per 36 minutes.

He’s a completely different player than the Cavs current bigs, Larry Nance Jr., Kevin Love and Tristan Thompson. He can rebound and defend the perimeter much better than Thompson. However, he can’t space the court like Love, a sad reality of Noel’s game.

Noel made just over four million last season, and without proving too much during his thirty games this season, he should be within range for the Cavs to sign him for a year or two.
