Cleveland Cavaliers: 5 possible trade destinations for Kevin Love
Option #4: The Phoenix Suns
The Phoenix Suns have been active in trade talks not only as a third team in a potential Cavaliers deal but also as a destination for the Clippers’ DeAndre Jordan. While nothing is concrete yet, they might want to reconsider their options and secure Love instead.
While Love is not the rim-protector that Jordan is, he certainly can rebound at Jordan’s pace. According to ESPN, a trade between the Suns and Clippers would have the Suns sending their fourth overall pick and Tyson Chandler to the Clippers. Meanwhile, the Suns could probably get away with keeping their veteran Chandler and just sending the fourth pick for Love.
Love could go to Phoenix, the pick could go to the Pacers, and the Cavaliers would get George. While the Cavaliers may entice the deal more and toss in Shumpert, the trade sounds more promising than it actually is.
Acquiring Love would make the Suns a much better team especially since they, just like the Bulls, ranked near the bottom of the league in threes per game with 7.5. The Suns also shot the deep-ball at an ineffective 33.2%, so trading for Love clearly makes much more sense.
