Option #3: The Chicago Bulls

Just like in Indiana, Kevin Love would be the main acquisition that the Bulls receive for Jimmy Butler. While the third team with different assets would most likely be needed, Kevin Love could again do his own thing with the Bulls just like he did with the Timberwolves.

The Bulls, who started Robin Lopez at center last season, could use some more floor spacing too. With just 7.6 threes per game, the Chicago Bulls ranked 28th in the NBA in threes and 24th in three-point percentage. Kevin Love could help fix that. He made 2.4 threes with the Cavaliers last season and shot just over 37% from downtown. Those 2.4 threes would easily be the most for Chicago. Their next best shooter, Nikola Mirotic, made just 1.8 per game on just over 34%.

For a 6-foot-10 big, those shooting numbers from Love are elite, and they could help the Bulls recover some shooting and playmaking that they will lose by dealing Butler. While it’s not ideal to lose Butler, Love would be a good replacement for this team.

At this point, the trade involving Paul George seems more likely than one involving Jimmy Butler, so the Chicago Bulls are a possible, but not likely, destination for Love.
