LeBron James didn’t play well at all in Game 3, and while he took the blame, Tyronn Lue understood and excused unique his situation.

April 17, which happens to be six days after my birthday, was the last time LeBron James didn’t score over 30 points in a game except for his horrific performance in Game 3. That dates back to the series in which they sweep the Pacers, and ever since that game, James has been brilliant. Not to mention LBJ has played 40+ minutes in every game except two this postseason.

He wasn’t so brilliant in Game 3. James had, by far, his worst performance of the postseason. He scored just 11 points and missed all four of his three point attempts. That game on April 17 was the only other game this postseason in which James didn’t connect on a deep ball.

Here is what Tyronn Lue said regarding James’ poor play following Game 3.

Lue said “He’s human.”

James even acknowledged his poor play in Game 3 afterwards and took most of the blame himself. According to Yahoo Sports’ Malika Andrews, James said this following Game 3:

"“I was just pretty poor,” James said. “What do you want me to say? It seems like you only ask questions when we lose. It’s a weird thing with you, Kenny, you always come around when we lose, I swear.”"

James also called out “Kenny”, a reporter asking him about his performance. Obviously this is rarity of a game from LeBron. While LeBron did take the credit for blowing the lead and being poor all-around, it is comforting for a player to know his coach won’t blast him in the media sessions.

This team has built fantastic chemistry over the last couple years, and the series goes on, all the Cavs will be back in their desperation mode, and they should come out and rock the Celtics in Game 4.
