The Cleveland Cavaliers have decided to rest LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Love Monday night as they play the Miami Heat in Miami.

The Cleveland Cavaliers and Tyronn Lue have repeatedly stated how being playoff ready is more crucial than the one seed, and today they are taking that seriously.

This game against Miami, while the Cavaliers hopefully still have a chance, could get ugly quickly. This is the Cavaliers fourth game against Miami this season, and the Big 3 will have sat out in two of the four games.

Tristan Thompson, who had his record-setting active games streak recently snapped, will also be out but with a more legit cause. Resting this away game could be a good thing for Lue and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

He will get to experiment one more time with his bench and what lineups flow easily without James and Irving. A lineup that can contain and even beat a team without the big 3 will easily be a coveted lineup for the Cavs this May.

While I and most every other fan would rather see these players be in the game, Lue had to make the decision, and it will probably pay off. But, if you are planning to watch this game, it may just be a waste of time.

This season, the big 3 have averaged 70.5 points per game. That is equivalent to 64% of the Cavaliers total points. Replacing that on this currently roster or any roster is practically impossible, so these non-big 3 games are always interesting in that regard.

After this, the Cavaliers have the Raptors Wednesday. We will most likely see the big three in that game, and that game will hopefully vault the Cavaliers into their playoff form.

Again, tune in to the game tonight but don’t expect to see the usual Cavaliers.
