It was confirmed last night that the Maloof family had reached an agreement to sell 65% of the controlling interest of the Sacramento Kings to a Seattle group, which will look to move the franchise to Seattle.

According to a tweet by sports columnist Peter Vecsey, the new ownership will also be looking to land some big names:

Phil Jackson already stated that he has no intention to ever coach again, but he didn’t say anything in regard to accepting a front office position.

The relocation of the Kings’ franchise is still not a complete deal, but according to Vecsey, Phil Jackson would be joining the Seattle SuperSonics franchise and act as a mentor. With the current roster of the Kings having quite a few young players, Jackson’s presence could undoubtedly help the team’s progress and growth.

We will have to wait and see whether the team does relocate to Seattle, and whether Jackson will join the organization.
