According to cbssports.com, the Rockets have reinstated Royce White, who will report to Houston’s D-League affiliate Rio Grande Valley.

The 6”8 White, was the 16th pick in the draft and is the type of versatile forward that can exploit mismatches.

Unfortunately, his anxiety issues are better documented than his game is.

On Saturday, the Rockets reached an agreement that “addresses the major issues” for both parties. The team also said that the league and the players’ union have approved the settlement.

Hopefully, White is one step closer to achieving his NBA dream.

A week after rookie Royce White refused to accept an assignment to the D-League, the Houston Rockets suspended their first-round pick out of Iowa State for not honoring his contract.

Going into the 2012 NBA Draft, many teams were wary about drafting White because of his anxiety disorder. White has been very open about his anxiety, especially on Twitter. Jonathan Hock on Grantland.com also highlighted his struggles in a very well done documentary.

As he has often done in recent months, White took to Twitter to air his feelings.

Unfortunately for White, people’s patience with him and his condition are wearing thin.

Hopefully White and the Rockets will be able to figure out this situation soon, as it would be a shame if White never plays in the NBA nor becomes the trailblazer for mental illness in professional sports that he could be.
