Dallas Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle has had enough of the poor defensive efforts and his team’s losing streak.

After allowing teams to score 100 points or more in five of their six-straight losses, Carlisle spoke out against his team’s recent woes, according to The Dallas Morning News.

“I [have] to be inventive and find ways,” he said. “I don’t have a better answer than that. The last week, I’ve had to literally scream in the face of two guys in practices and shootarounds to get the point across. And I will continue to do that.

“If I have to start suspending guys for not doing things they’re supposed to be doing on the court, I’ll do it. And Mark and I will get into it about that. But somehow, things have got to change and it can’t just be about that it’s a tough schedule. It just can’t.”

Carlisle doesn’t name names, but he’s got to be frustrated if he’s venting to the media. The interesting portion of this article is where Carlisle specifically notes that he will “get into it” with Cuban.

The owner constructed his team on the notion of winning now, while still having room to work free agency over the summer by signing the majority of his roster to one-year deals.

We’ll hold our collective breathe on if Carlisle actually goes through with suspending players, but we very well could see a change in minutes/playing time for the vets.
