Is It Okay to Panic Now?

AUTHOR: | IN: Gameday, Popular | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

Before I get into specifics, I want to get one thing off my chest – I don’t want to end on a sour note since it is the end of another disappointing finish to Cleveland sports.  With his team down just nine points with about 1:30 left on the clock, Mike Brown (or LeBron, or everybody) elected not to foul and try to win the game.  They threw the towel in with more than a minute left in their season and continued the disappointment by jogging the ball down the floor and giving off to Anderson Varejao for a three [...]

Cleveland Drops Game 2 in Poor Performance

AUTHOR: | IN: Gameday, LeBron James, Popular | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

Boston Celtics vs. Cleveland Cavaliers.  Game two in front of a sold out crowd at the Quicken Loans Arena.  And a pregame presentation of the Most Valuable Player award to the greatest player in the world. Now can somebody explain to me exactly what it is that is keeping the Cavaliers from bringing everything they have for 48 minutes? Yes, LeBron may be a little hurt – but he wasn’t too hurt to blast Boston for 35 two days ago.  Yes, Shaq is coming off of an injury – but how much conditioning do you really need to put the [...]

Second Half Performance Pushes Cavs Past C’s in Game 1

AUTHOR: | IN: Gameday, LeBron James, Popular | COMMENTS: None Yet

After watching LeBron James tear apart the Chicago Bulls in the first round of the playoffs, one might have begun to wonder Is this guy human?  Well, yeah, he is.  He had what some would call an “off-night” as he committed a couple careless turnovers, came out with a lackluster effort in the first quarter and missed several shot attempts in the painted area.  But here’s the non-human part to that claim: The guy still torched the Celtics for 35 points, seven rebounds and seven assists in a 12-for-24 shooting performance.  Wow. But it wasn’t LeBron who held the team [...]

LeBron, Cavs Bring Heat

AUTHOR: | IN: Gameday, LeBron James | COMMENTS: None Yet

Guten tag Cavs fans!  In a star-studded matchup (complete with Michael Jordan sitting courtside) the Wine and Gold brought the heat and pulled out another victory to complete the sweep in the sunshine state. Just like they did in Orlando on Wednesday night, the Cavs went to Shaquille O’Neal on their first two possessions of the game and getting the big fella involved early paid off again.  LeBron, again, led his Cleveland team with 34 points on 8 of 20 from the field while dishing out 9 assists and gathering 4 boards.  Mo Williams continued his red-hot performance from the night [...]

Cavs Fall to Raptors 101-91

AUTHOR: | IN: FanZone, Gameday, LeBron James, NBA, News | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Cleveland Cavaliers arrived in Toronto with high hopes of walking away with their first win of the season, it was Chris Bosh and Andrea Bargnani who would later put those hopes to rest. Bargnani scored 28 points while Chris Bosh tallied up 21 points and 16 rebounds of his own as the Toronto Raptors came away with a victory in their home opener against the Cleveland Cavaliers, 101-91. LeBron James led the way for the Cavaliers as he recorded his first triple-double (23 pts, 12 asts, 11 rebs) of the season. LeBron’s triple-double is bitter sweet as the Cavaliers [...]

Keys to the Game: Cavs vs. Raptors 10/28/09

AUTHOR: | IN: FanZone, Gameday, Keys to the Game, LeBron James, NBA | COMMENTS: None Yet

After a painful loss in Cleveland’s season opener to the Boston Celtics the Cavaliers look to rebound tonight as they travel to Toronto to play the Raptors. The Cavaliers have played great against the Raptors in recent years, having a 12-2 record since 2005 and currently hold a 5-game win streak against Toronto. Even though the Cavaliers have had great success against the Raptors, it wouldn’t surprise me if this one stays close. KEYS TO THE GAME Take Smart Shots: The Cavs are in need of a better shot selection. I don’t know how many times I was seeing players put [...]

Cavs vs. Wizards Pre-season Preview

AUTHOR: | IN: FanZone, Gameday, Injury Update, LeBron James, NBA | COMMENTS: None Yet

Tonight LeBron James and the Cavaliers look to revive their everlasting rivalry with the Washington Wizards.  After meeting three consecutive years in the playoffs, the Wizards failed to make the post season in 2009 after finishing 19-63. Though it’s only a pre-season game, the Cavaliers look to learn as much as possible about Washington, as the Cavaliers stuggled against a poor Wizards team in 2009 as the two teams split the season series 2-2. The Cavaliers are heading into tonights game undefeated and look to improve their record to 4-0 for the pre-season. The Cavaliers could be without a number [...]
