The Cleveland Cavaliers have, just like with their current guards situation, a bunch of bigs going into the 2019-20 situation.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have a ton of bigs on their current roster going into the 2019-20 regular season, as is also the case with their guards on the current roster, too.

As is the case with the current guards likely to be on the roster at the season’s outset, there are a fair amount of big men that could warrant meaningful minutes next year, and with two of those players being on expiring contracts and five bigs in total, I’d assume there will be one and/or two bigs moved by the 2020 trade deadline.

For now, the players in the big rotation are I would think opening night starters in Kevin Love and Tristan Thompson, to go with Larry Nance Jr., John Henson (provided he’s healthier from a reported torn wrist ligament) and Ante Zizic.

Of those bigs, Thompson and Henson are the two players on expiring contracts after the 2019-20 season (per Spotrac), and I would think that if one and/or both can show they have some rotational defensive value in the earlier portion of next year, they could be dealt for a bad contract and/or future draft pick/picks along with an expiring guard such as Brandon Knight or Jordan Clarkson, perhaps in a three-team deal if needed later on.

In terms of the others in the rotation, I would hope to see Love reestablishing himself as one of the more valuable scoring and rebounding bigs in the league, and Nance should be able to impact the game in an all-around manner, while Zizic should be able to warrant more minutes-share this season when one and/or both of Thompson and Henson potentially gets dealt.

I would also think with the Cavaliers being in the early stages of a full-rebuild, that current two-way Dean Wade should be able to get on the floor on occasion, considering he can hit shots from three-point range, but the vast majority of his playing time will probably come with the Canton Charge, anyhow.

So as far as 2019-20 statistics predictions, we’ll start with Thompson.
