The Cleveland Cavaliers’ GM David Griffin might be staying put after several front office doors close.

The Orlando Magic just recently filled their vacancy of president of basketball operations and the general manager position. The Atlanta Hawks, today are rumored that they will fill their general manager vacancy. The Hawks and the Magic were rumored spots for Griffin and the teams had interest in Griffin.

It is not known if Griffin had any interest in the Hawks and Magic. The Magic requested permission to speak with Griffin, but, the Cavs did not respond, according to a report.

The Magic have hired Toronto Raptors general manager Jeff Weltman as president of basketball operations and hired former Milwaukee Bucks general manager John Hammond in the same position in Orlando.

According to David Pingalore, sports director of WKMG-TV, David Griffin is looking for $6M a year. According to Pingalore, Griffin did not want Martins as the boss, wanted to answer to ownership.

Thus, the Magic moved on from Griffin and hired Weltman and Hammond.

The Atlanta Hawks have also picked who they want to be their next general manager and that is Golden State Warriors assistant general manager Travis Schlenk. He is the frontrunner for the position.

The Milwaukee Bucks have an open general manager position open. Brian Windhorst of ESPN floated the idea around on ESPN Cleveland Radio yesterday of the possibility of Milwaukee being interested in Griffin.

However, according to Windhorst, the Cavs and Griffin have met behind the scenes, however, he does not know if that is good news or not. The importance of Griffin on this team the last several years can not be understated. He has been a trading genius and organized one of the NBA’s most lethal teams.
