The Cleveland Cavaliers’ superstar LeBron James was outed from the MVP finalists, and J.R. Smith was recently asked for his take about it.

It turned out to be James Harden, Russell Westbrook, and Kawhi Leonard as the three finalist for the most valuable player award. Somehow the Cleveland Cavaliers’ legend was left off the list after a historic season.

While Russ averaged a triple-double, Harden was superb, and Leonard proved to be an incredible two-way player- LeBron James had a season that had never been done before. He averaged 25+ points per game, 8+ assists per game, and 8+ rebounds per game on over 54% from the field. Think about that and realize that this man wasn’t an MVP finalist. Seriously.

Here is the clip of Smith talking about James’ snub:

I felt the same way. Smith compared James dominance to how Jordan dominated his era even though not being a perennial MVP winner. It’s dumbfounding how this happened, but this will only put more fear into the opponents of James just as Boston saw.

The Cleveland Cavaliers will easily be coasting their way to the Finals after Boston star Isaiah Thomas suffered an injury which will put him out the remainder of the playoffs.

In the end, James is done playing for MVP’s. His focus is on the Finals and cementing his legacy as the greatest of all-time. If he can beat the super team Warriors and obtain that crown, then the entire MVP conversation becomes irrelevant like it should be.
