With this long rest the team should be able to use this rest to help make a push for another championship.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are trying to get another championship that is no debate and the way they are going to do that is to breeze right through the eastern conference.

The rest that they are getting now will help benefit their legs in the next round and if they are fortunate to move on to the finals. If they make it to the finals the team they face will be no joke. It will either be the San Antonio Spurs or the Golden State Warriors.

With the layoff they can look ahead to the finals and that would be a big mistake but the leadership of LeBron James and the core group from the last two playoff runs will make sure that does not happen.

Coach Lue said that the team is anxious to play. Lue said that veterans like James and Kyle Korver talked about wanting to play.

Per ESPN’s Dave McMenamin:

"“I know our team is anxious to play,” coach Lue said. “Kyle Korver and LeBron, those guys are talking about it. So our guys are just anxious to play and ready to go out there.”"

Korver and James are players that have every reason to be excited. They can taste the team’s dominance and they know that they can do it. This would be James’ fourth ring, inching him closer to the legacy of Michael Jordan which he so dearly covets, and Korver’s first ring after years and years of coming short so it is an exciting time for the team.

For the guys in generally, it must feel like they are young and it’s Christmas Eve and they have to wait patiently for the next day and when they wake up the tree is full of presents.

LeBron has everything anybody could ever want; the fame, the glory and the riches. Now it’s time to chase the top of the mountain. It’s time for him to step into the same orbit as Jordan. It was his mission when he came out of St. Vincent-St. Mary’s in 2003 and he will be just that much closer if he accomplishes his goal this year.

For the coach, knowing that the team is excited to play and not complacent that means that his job is easier and he does not need to motivate them any more than they already are. With the rest that they are getting between rounds it is building more excitement and that is a good sign for everybody involved with the team.

The Boston Celtics and the Washington Wizards have a Game 7 to play on Monday and it is the biggest game of the playoffs. Whoever wins that game will have to defeat the Cavaliers and, this might be an understatement, but that won’t be easy.

The Cavs faced the Wizards three times and faced the Celtics four times and lost to each team once. They’ll get a fight from either team but for the opposing team it will be a tough task to try to win four games against this Cavs team.

The Big Three has reached a level of superiority that’s unmatched in the Eastern Conference. The team is focused now and, year-in and year-out, they have a system in place where they know it works and they will always be successful.

The team should love the ability to rest their guys because of the fact that James is 32-years-old and they’ll want to preserve him for more playoff runs like the ones that they are having now.

Things are looking good for the team now and they want to get the next round over with so they can achieve their dreams of getting the second ring for Cleveland.
