The Cleveland Cavaliers (8-2) are set to take on the Detroit Pistons (6-6) tonight at The Q at 7:30 EST.

This is the Cleveland Cavaliers first game against the Detroit Pistons since their series-clinching victory in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference playoff’s first round. Like those games, when the Pistons kept the score closer than many believed, the Cleveland Cavaliers have shown their mettle in many close matchups this season. Teams are throwing their best at the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Cavs have two wins over the second best team in the Eastern Conference to show for it with only two losses. In one of those losses, LeBron James didn’t even play.

In the playoffs. with Reggie Jackson in at point guard, the Pistons hummed on both ends and all five starters finished the series averaging more than 14 points per game. Furthermore, Jackson averaged 9.3 assists per game that series and was effective in the pick-and-roll and on kickouts after penetrating. That allowed Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Marcus Morris to combine for 18 threes that series.

On the defensive end, Jackson and Caldwell-Pope combined for 3.3 steals per game while Andre Drummond had 1.4 blocks per game.

Luckily for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Jackson won’t be playing in tonight’s matchup.
