According to a report, Timofey Mozgov is getting shopped by the Cleveland Cavaliers. Here are 12 possible replacements.

While we have no idea who the Cavs would trade Mozgov for, we have some idea why. Timo hasn’t seemed himself this season and has had his confidence drained this year. Tristan Thompson is now starting over him and the Cavs have to have some concern that Mozgov will not return to form. We covered the WOJbomb yesterday about the Cavs calling on him. (New Window)

Included in that report was that the Cavs were looking to add a 3 and D kind of wing in possible trades. Luke looked at some great options for that yesterday. (New Window)

Even if the Cavs do get a wing player, moving Timo would leave the Cavs with questions in their big man rotation. Right now, Kevin Love is their only true power forward, with LeBron James, Richard Jefferson and James Jones able to fill in.

Tristan and Timo are backed up by Anderson Varejao and Sasha Kaun. Neither has done anything to give the Cavs any confidence in them playing important minutes, especially against teams with the teams with good big men.

Varejao, returning from an Achilles injury, has played in 25 games averaging 8.8 minutes in those games. He is averaging 2.2 points and 2.6 rebounds. He has never been a good rim protector, relying on diminishing foot speed to be a good defender.

Kaun, in his first year in the NBA after years in Europe, has only played in 9 games averaging 4.3 minutes. He looks ill prepared for playing at an NBA level.

All of that adds up to the Cavs needing to find some kind of replacement for Mozgov if they are going to trade him. The Cavs could get involved in multi-team deals, either using Mozgov or their huge Traded Player Exception to get what they are looking for.

Here are some trade options that gives the Cavs a big man who could help them replace Timofey Mozgov:
