Cavs Vs Hawks Game 3: Three Keys to a Good Game

The Cleveland Cavaliers wiped the floor with the Atlanta Hawks in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Now, in Cavs Vs Hawks Game 3, the two teams travel to Cleveland with the Cavs up 2 – 0 against the #1 seed. The Cavs have said all the right things about staying hungry and not taking games for granted but it has to be in their heads just a little bit.

The Hawks on the other hand have spoken with confidence that if they get back to Hawks basketball they can still win. Sharp shooter Kyle Korver is out for the year now, a big blow with DeMarre Carroll hobbled and Al Horford coming out of Game 2 twice with dings.

The Hawks could win this game, though few if any would predict that. The bigger question is how can this be a good game? We take a look at 3 keys to a quality game:

Physicality

When the Chicago Bulls and Boston Celtics resigned themselves that they were not beating the Cavs, they got physical. That style created some ugly basketball, a lot of foul shots and some injuries. The Hawks play a far less physical style and are not coached in that manner.

If the teams are able to get up and down the court a little bit, not tackled on attacks to the basket and are controlled by the refs, the game could be fun to watch. The Hawks will throw out more youth and energy than in games past.

Shooting

One of the best parts of the Hawks offense is their deep shooting. Korver’s loss makes that less impressive but still a big part of what they do. The Cavs have thrived on offense with LeBron James driving and kicking to a myriad of shooters. The Cavs defense has done a great job of sticking to shooters and forcing worse shots.

If both teams can hit shots it will open up the floor for dunks and excitement. It will also create a higher scoring affair than the 1st two games where neither team topped 100 points. Hot shooting will keep The Q crowd loud throughout the game.

Crowd

The crowd is such an important part of live events. Whether it is a sporting event, concert or even wrestling, when the crowd is into the event it heightens the experience. In the first two series, The Q was a little quiet for our taste.

The Cleveland crowds have been through the early series with LeBron for years. The Eastern Conference Finals was likely to change that but now that the Cavs are a prohibitive favorite, will they sit on their hands after an early spurt? Keeping the fans engaged is both the Cavs PR department and fellow fans’ job. Get loud and enjoy the event.
