When the Cleveland Cavaliers acquired LeBron James in free agency, they instantly became a team many pegged Kevin Love to be destined for.
At one point it was opined that Love was needed before James signed to sweeten the deal for the former Cavs star, but the reverse ended up being true. Love revealed in his introductory press conference that he let it be known to LeBron James that he wanted to join the Cavaliers once James announced his decision to sign with Cleveland in Sports Illustrated on July 11.
#Cavs Kevin Love: LeBron called me [shortly] after he signed, and I said simply ‘I’m in’.

This is hardly shocking as Love wanted out of Minnesota for years and Cleveland suddenly became the best option for him once they acquired LeBron James. Cleveland can also thank the Golden State Warriors for not wanting to trade Klay Thompson in a deal the Wolves would have jumped at, but Love clearly has a desire to play in Cleveland, which is going to make Cavs fans very happy for a very long time.
