The Los Angeles Clippers may very well be destined to meet the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals this year, but at the moment the two teams are battling off the court for something that could help them on it.
Ray Allen hasn’t even decided if he’s coming back for a 19th season in the NBA this year but already there are teams lining up with interest and solid teams at that. According to Arash Markazi from ESPN Los Angeles, the Clippers have thrown their hat into the ring when it comes to trying to sign Ray Allen.
Markazi notes that it’s likely the Clippers make a run at Allen after Doc Rivers has been keeping the team’s foot in the door all summer.
Doc Rivers had been in contact with Ray Allen earlier this summer. Expect the Clippers to make a run at him again.

Allen may not even play in 2014-15, which would make all of this talk about pursuing him a little bit irrelevant. But at the end of the day, he’s a championship asset to have on your roster which is why it’s no surprise both the Clippers and Cavaliers are after his talents.
