After a month of flirting with the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Cleveland Cavaliers have finally acquired Kevin Love and introduced him on Tuesday.
Part of the introduction involved Love showing off his new uniform with the Cavaliers — a uniform that is unorthodox and strange given what Love and other NBA players typically where. Love showed off not his old No. 42 but a new number — No. 0.
At the press conference Love gave a little bit of insight on why he changed numbers.
“I thought this was a chance for me to start fresh…number zero is the right fit for me.” KL on choosing #0

And most importantly, as excited as Cavs fans are, Love is thrilled to be in Cleveland.
Love picking the No. 0 is symbolic to say the least but it may also be because No. 42 belonged to Cavaliers legend Nate Thurmond and is retired in Cleveland. Still, Love is starting over fresh in Cleveland and his career in Minnesota will be built upon in Cleveland has he seems to be a lock to make the postseason this year for the first time in his career.
