The Cleveland Cavaliers introduced Kevin Love today after acquiring him from the Minnesota Timberwolves earlier in the weekend.
But one thing that Love said is already sticking out with fans and likely is with the front office as well. The biggest sticking point with adding Love has long been the fact that his contract is up after the 2015 season and he’s expected to opt out and test free agency.
That was before he joined a team with Kyrie Irving and LeBron James, which may change his mind. Love stated in his introductory press conference that he’s committed to the Cavaliers and is so long term.

Of course, this is what Love is supposed to say but it might be something that fans and the front office might hold him to down the road. When Love’s contract runs out in a year, it will be interesting to see just how big of a circus he creates in being courted by other teams.
It’s likely that he goes the Carmelo Anthony route and soaks up a few weeks worth of free trips to major cities before signing a max deal with the Cavaliers. But for now, the era of Love has begun in Cleveland and here’s to hoping all works out well.
