The Cleveland Cavaliers are set to acquire Kevin Love from the Minnesota Timberwolves this month and it’s getting close to that time when Andrew Wiggins will be allowed to be traded. August 23rd is this Saturday and that’s when the big trade is expected to go down.
But part of the deal was Anthony Bennett being traded to the Philadelphia 76ers as part of what has become a three-team deal. That’s something that won’t be happening though as Bennett is not and never was going to be traded to the 76ers as part of the deal.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski from Yahoo! Sports, the Wolves were always going to keep Bennett and were never going to flip him for Young.
Never was Anthony Bennett going to Sixers in any Thad Young deal. Always destined to play with Andrew Wiggins in Minny as part of Love deal.

This doesn’t really affect the Cavaliers but it’s still something that affects one of their soon-to-be former players. Bennett has had a great offseason and will be looking to not only get revenge on his critics who deemed him a bust but also the Cavs for trading him so soon in his career.
That revenge will be coming with the Wolves though and not in near-by Philadelphia.
