The Kevin Love trade seems to be nearing finalization, but that means we’re going to have to see Andrew Wiggins depart Cleveland and head to Minnesota as a result.
But if you were thinking that the Cavaliers were keeping their No. 1 draft pick in the loop, you’re sorely mistaken as that couldn’t be further from the truth. Wiggins found out about his own trade from reporters asking him how it felt to be traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Tim McCormick of ESPN spoke to Wiggins after the news broke:
Lol RT @TMcCormickESPN: Just Spoke to Andrew Wiggins – Said Congrats on trade to T-Wolves – He said I didn’t know, is it final? Wow

The Cavaliers probably weren’t happy about trading Wiggins to the Timberwolves, so the news wasn’t something they were likely rushing to tell him, but it would have still been nice to know ahead of time.
What this will really do is fire up the conspiracy theorists and trade truthers who want to deny that anything is going to happen with Wiggins and that he won’t be traded. The fact of the matter is that he will indeed be traded for Kevin Love, but Wiggins found out about it just like the rest of us did — which if anything makes him more personable than he already was.
