LeBron James is back in Cleveland and now that the season is just a few months away and training camp is coming up in the near future, it’s high time that LeBron James meet some of the people he’s going to be working for.
According to Brian Windhorst of ESPN.com, James has been in contact with Blatt and Griffin via telephone and text but met with the two in person for the first time on Tuesday.
LeBron James met with new Cleveland Cavaliers coach David Blatt and new general manager David Griffin in person for the first time Tuesday as he prepared for the upcoming season, sources told ESPN.com.
James has been extremely busy since announcing his decision to sign with the Cavs last month, going on promotional trips for Nike to Brazil and China while also shooting a movie in New York. James met face-to-face with team owner Dan Gilbert before announcing his free agent choice but had communicated with Griffin and Blatt by telephone and text.
This really isn’t all that big of a deal, as he’s bound to meet his new head coach and general manager at some point. But at the end of the day, this shows us that the front office really had little pull in this whole bringing LeBron James back deal if he’s just now meeting with his new bosses.
