The Cleveland Cavaliers were looking forward to their renewed rivalry with the Indiana Pacers thanks to LeBron James and Paul George’s rivalry that existed when LeBron was with the Miami Heat. But the gruesome leg injury that the Pacers star suffered even bothered LeBron — because of course it did since he’s not a monster.
LeBron’s heartfelt message appeared on his Instagram account after he learned about the injury, as he wasn’t there to be a part of the Team USA scrimmage.
The message from the Cavs legend and iconic star read:
Hurt my stomach the moment I heard the news! I didn’t want to believe it. Man I need u out there bro! Get well and have a speedy recovery PG24! #DamnIt #YoungKing #StriveForGreatness
LeBron also shared a collage of moments that he and George shared on the court.
It’s easy to feel bad for the Pacers in a pity sort of way, but it’s impossible to put yourself in the shoes of Pacers fans as they are feeling something no fan base ever wants to feel.
Thankfully, this didn’t happen in a more severe way, as it appears George is going to be coming back at some point and his career isn’t over. But LeBron sending out love to his rival just goes to show the comradrey that NBA players have, even if they’re on the opposite ends of the court.
