The Cleveland Cavaliers were big winners this summer when they convinced LeBron James to come back to Cleveland and rejoin the team he left back in 2010.
But the Cavs aren’t the only team who consider themselves winners thanks to the LeBron James decision. The Washington Wizards and John Wall believe that they’re benefiting from LeBron’s return to Cleveland — and he’s not at all wrong about it either.
“It helps us in our division, so we can get a top-three seed and homecourt advantage,” Wall said of James’s move to the Central Division. “We still got to battle it out with Charlotte, but we knew it was always going to be tough getting No. 1 in our division with Miami being at the top the whole time. We know they’re not the same team, but they’re still talented. We got great veteran guys that’s going to come in and push all of us.”
What Wall is referring to is that the Miami Heat are a weaker team without LeBron there which means the Wizards are planning on leap frogging the Heat in the Southeast Division this year. What Wall might be forgetting though is that the Heat are still one of the top teams in the East, even without LeBron, and still need to be beaten better than they were last year.
