The Minnesota Timberwolves are outlining their strategy to trade Kevin Love, which is why it has taken so long for a trade to gain any sort of traction.
One thing that the Wolves have done this whole time is hold out hope that a trade wouldn’t be needed and that a deal could be worked out with Kevin Love to get him to stay for more years. That’s no longer the case though, as Wolves owber Glenn Taylor has come out and said that he expects a trade done by the end of August.
The Timberwolves say now that they expect to trade disgruntled all-star Kevin Love and that a deal is expected Aug. 23 or Aug. 24.
“I’m saying it’s most likely because Kevin has made it pretty clear that that’s what he wants to do,” Wolves owner Glen Taylor told the Pioneer Press.
It’s been obvious for a while the Love wanted out of Minnesota and now that management is reiterating that, this truly indeed marks the end of an era for the Timberwolves — even if it was just mediocre at that. It wasn’t like the Garnett era, but the Wolves losing Love will no doubt hurt in more ways than one.
