The Minnesota Timberwolves are trying to help get a deal done that would send Kevin Love to the Cleveland Cavaliers, but so far no good on that front.
One of the reasons a trade hasn’t been made is because of all the moving parts still involved.
Here is what Finnan originally wrote:
The crux of the trade appears to have the Cavaliers sending Wiggins, forward Anthony Bennett and a 2018 first-round pick to Minnesota for Love and possibly forward Corey Brewer. The Timberwolves might want to dump point guard J.J. Barea’s $4.5 million contract in a deal.
However, Jon Krawczynski of the Associated Press has come to shoot down Finnan’s report, stating that Brewer is not part of any Love deal.
Corey Brewer is not a candidate to be moved in a potential Wolves-Cavs deal. He’s staying in Minnesota.

What the Wolves are trying to do is dump bad contracts they don’t want and that’s where J.J. Barea, Kevin Martin and all these other names are coming up more and more. Brewer is a guy the Wolves want to keep above all other things — apparently — as he was one of the only bright spots for the Wolves last season.
