The Cleveland Cavaliers snagging LeBron James back from the Miami Heat this summer was a shock to a lot of people, and not everyone was supportive of the move.
LeBron’s former teammate Dwyane Wade not only sensed that a transition was coming for LeBron but is standing behind his friend in his decision to return home to the place where he started his career.
“As his friend, I’m just supportive,” said Wade, who made no recruiting pitches to James. “As crazy as that might sound, I’m supportive of my friends doing what makes them happy. Obviously, same thing with him in this situation. You’ve gotta do what makes you happy — selfishly do what makes you happy. The decision to go back home was that.”
If there’s ever a guy who knows a ting or two about being loyal to your original team, it’s Wade. He has been with the Heat his entire career and won three championships in South Beach. While he and LeBron could have likely won more together, it’s nice to see the friendship between the two and the fact that off the court there isn’t any hurt feelings.
