Once LeBron James announced his return to the Cleveland Cavaliers speculation about what jerseys the team would wear next season began to surface. It was only until just recently that LeBron announced that he would also be returning to his Cleveland roots be reverting back to the old No. 23 that he wore in high school and for his first seven years with the Cavs. Now, a new jersey could be on the way.
ESPN Sports Business Reporter and Business Correspondent Darren Rovell recently tweeted out a photo that showcased a new Cleveland Cavaliers design by adidas:

Very underwhelming. Although it’s beautiful to see the No. 23 in gold plastered on a wine background, I was expecting something much more modern and sleek. There are no reports out there that these are the actual jerseys that the Cleveland Cavaliers will be wearing next season, but it would come to no one’s surprise if the Cavs so chose to go with this design for next season. After switching to a gold backdrop with wine letters and numbers — with a basic “CAVS” across the chest — a wise monetary move by the team would be to switch jersey designs once again.
It would be nice to see something that also calls back the old Cavalier days when LeBron wasn’t even a thought in the minds of Cleveland fans. The team did sport throwback styles when LeBron was on the team, but it would be interesting to see what other decade the team could don as an alternative jersey. The jerseys pictured above, however, make it seem like the Cleveland Cavaliers would be wearing these jerseys regularly, as they’re a pretty basic design.
