Cleveland newspaper hiring a LeBron James beat writer

The Cleveland Cavaliers have LeBron James back in town and that means some big changes are going to happen when it comes to how things are run.

Of course, the first order of business is to get the roster in order but there is a trickle down effect from LeBron’s return that has actually turned him into a job creator.

Posted on Cleveland.com, the Northeast Ohio Media Group is looking for somebody who can dedicate their sports career to covering everything LeBron James does.

Bring your sports, news and investigative reporting experience to one of the most challenging reporting jobs in the country, covering the sports performance, business dealings and community leadership of basketball star LeBron James. You’ll cover all aspects of his roles in Northeast Ohio and nationally as he returns to the Cleveland Cavaliers, writing, creating videos, and posting across multiple platforms including all relevant types of social media. You’ll also participate in broadcasts where you discuss James, working closely with reporters assigned to cover the Cavaliers and the NBA.

This isn’t a new concept and isn’t even exclusive to LeBron James. ESPN.com made their True Hoop blog Heat Index a major staple thanks to LeBron James forming the Big 3 back in 2010 and Brian Windhorst is basically a LeBron James beat writer for ESPN as well.

It’s not a wide ranging gig, but it’s a pretty sweet one and about as straight forward as it gets.
