Ray Allen considering signing with Cavaliers, Rockets

The Cleveland Cavaliers are hoping that they can put together a roster of talent that will help LeBron James know that coming back to Cleveland was the right choice to do. Already the team has added Mike Miller and James Jones but the real prize seems to be Ray Allen.

But Allen isn’t even sure he wants to play basketball anymore as he’s been in the league almost 20 years and hasn’t yet decided that he’s coming back for sure.

Shandel Richardson from the Sun Sentinel writes that Ray Allen has been speaking to two teams this offseason about potentially continuing his NBA career with them, :

Coach Erik Spoelstra said he has yet to speak with Allen about possibly returning to Miami for another season.

“We knew that he wanted to take some time and be patient to see where he is,” Spoelstra said. “We’ll see what happens. I don’t even know where we’ll be with our roster, but we owe a lot to Ray.”

Returning to the Heat seems to be out of the question for Allen, but returning to the NBA at all is something he’s seriously going to have to think about. Allen has had an incredible career and he deserves to retire if he wants to, but the NBA is better off with him around and that goes double for Cleveland if he chooses the Cavaliers.
