The deal, worth $45 million, can be matched by the Houston Rockets as part of Parsons’ restricted free agency. Houston has 72 hours to respond.
With Parsons signing the offer sheet, Houston’s timeline has been thrown into an accelerated pattern. They will need to have firm assurances from their various free agent targets before deciding whether to re-up with Parsons to the pricey deal or allow him to leave and find replacements.
Houston already has an offer tabled for Miami Heat forward Chris Bosh.
