WIGGINS! Cavaliers Select Andrew Wiggins in the 2014 NBA Draft

The Cavaliers have selected Andrew Wiggins with the top overall pick in the NBA Draft.

Wiggins was the top player on the draft board for many, and he impressed in his workout for the Cleveland Cavaliers last week. He’s been highly touted since high school, and the Cavaliers were heavily linked to him in the days before the draft.

Wiggins obviously is the long-term answer at small forward for the Cavs. He’s a long, defensively-minded, hyper-athletic wing who can play anywhere from shooting guard to power forward. Basically, he solves a lot of the problems on the wing that the Cavs have suffered from, many of which may or may not be linked to Alonzo Gee.

Wiggins is exactly who almost every Cavs fan wanted, and they’re getting him. Jabari Parker and trades were also heavily considered, but ultimately the Cavaliers went with the player that Dan Gilbert reportedly wanted. Time will tell how Wiggins’s tenure will work out; however, for tonight, there is a ton to be excited about.

People are worried about Wiggins offensive prowess, but they haven’t seen David Blatt’s offense yet. He will be able to teach him the ins and outs and hopefully finally get an offensive presents on the floor for this team. They also need his defense!!

This is exactly the type of player who is perfect for the Princeton offense.
Bill Bradley of the Knicks comes to mind.
This makes so much sense that I can’t believe it happened.
      Good job, Cavs FO.
