Cavs want last minute workout with Dante Exum

According to ESPNs’s Andy Katz, the Cleveland Cavaliers are seeking a last minute workout with Australian point guard Dante Exum. Exum, seen primarily as a point guard, has worked out for the Milwaukee Bucks, Philadelphia 76ers and Orlando Magic. According to Katz, it is unlikely that a visit will take place unless Exum gets assurance from the Cavs that he will be their pick at No. 1.

This could be, and likely is, nothing more than the Cavaliers covering all of their bases, or at least attempting to. Although Exum is a different player than Kyrie Irving, they play the same position. The Cavs also have Dion Waiters, Jarrett Jack and Matthew Dellavedova in the backcourt. As a result, it would be a bit of shock if David Griffin and Co. went with Exum at No. 1. In all likelihood, barring a trade that moves Cleveland back in the draft, they will take Andrew Wiggins or Jabari Parker at No. 1.
