Following the news that Joel Embiid suffered a right foot injury that may affect his draft stock and his possible selection by the Cleveland Cavaliers at No. 1, the team has now decided to workout Australian guard Dante Exum, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports. Wojnarowski had this to tweet:
As Jeff Goodman reports, Joel Embiid suffered a foot injury. Cavs want to workout Dante Exum for No. 1 spot now too, sources tell Yahoo.

Although many have considered Exum outside the window of the “Big Three” of the 2014 NBA Draft — Embiid, Andrew Wiggins and Jabari Parker — it’s not farfetched that the Cavaliers are offering him a workout following the news of Embiid’s right foot possibly being broken. If the Cavaliers are in love with Embiid as much as reports are saying, his injury could be concerning enough to make Cleveland trade down and select a player like Exum, who many have said is the No. 4 prospect in this year’s draft.
Trading down and drafting Exum, however, would most likely signal the end of Dion Waiters on the Cavaliers, as it would be difficult for the Cavaliers to find playing time for both Waiters and Exum. However, working out Exum could just be a precautionary call by the Cavaliers, who opted not to work out and draft players like Anthony Bennett and Waiters.
