1978 – In a 105-99 Washington Bullets victory over the Seattle SuperSonics in Game 7 of the NBA Finals, the Bullets won their only championship. Marvin Webster scored a game-high 27 points in the loss while Mitch Kupchak put up 13 points for the Bullets.

Since Washington won the 1978 title, the franchise has been back to the Finals just once. However, the Wizards are on the rise. Coach Randy Wittman recently signed a contract extension after the team won 30 games for the first time in six years. In addition, they made it to the second round in the 2014 playoffs. The last time they accomplished that feat was 2005.
